Q: What is a pre-paid Funeral Plan?

A: The funeral plan is a way of making your own funeral arrangements before you die, and you can pay for the funeral at today’s prices.

Q: Can anyone buy a funeral plan?

A: Yes, there are no restrictions on health or age and no medical is required.

Q: Who are Golden Charter?

A: Golden charter are a trust company who solely sell and manage funeral plans, the funeral director is chosen on the plan but Golden Charter receive the payment and manage the fund until the person dies, ensuring your plan is financially secure. When the plan is required to be used, Golden Charter pay the funeral director.

Q: How do I arrange for a Plan?

A: You can contact any of our offices and we can post further information to you, or you can call into one of our offices and discuss the plan further (please make an appointment).

Q: Will the plan cover all the funeral arrangements and will my family have to pay more when I die?

A: There are four plans available varying on services and choices of extra’s. All Golden Charter plans cover the necessary part of the Funeral they are:

Funeral Directors Fees, Coffin, Hearse, Removal of deceased to funeral home within 15mile radius, Cremation/Burial * and doctors fees, for Cremation.

*Please note: Interment costs for burials may be covered, but cost of purchase of ground/lair is not included.

Q: Can I pre-purchase a burial lair with my Funeral Plan?

A: Lairs for Strowan Woodland Cemetery can be purchased seprately, or inconjunction with a Golden Charter Funeral Plan. Perth & Kinross Council will allow Golden Charter Funeral Plan holders, to pre-purchase a burial lair from them directly.

Q: What is not included?

A: The other associated costs such as newspaper notices, floral tributes, funeral teas etc, are not included. But, the funeral plans can cater for all these costs if required. Please ask at time of arranging.

Q: What happens when I die?

When you die all that needs to be done is for someone to contact your chosen funeral director, Gaulds Funeral Directors, we will immediately know what your wishes are and begin the process of making funeral arrangements with your surviving relatives, but it will be so much easier for them as we will already have 85% of the information we require and it will be simply a matter of agreeing a day, date and time for the funeral.

We contact Golden Charter and activate the plan and they pay us for the funeral, Simple.
